In loving memory of Iryna

In Loving Memory of Iryna Zarutska

Iryna was just 23 years old when her life was tragically taken. She had recently arrived in the United States, seeking safety from the war in Ukraine and hoping for a new beginning.

Like many Ukrainian women fleeing violence, Iryna came to America with dreams of building a better life. Her story represents the countless women whose voices must be heard and remembered.

Through the #SayHerName movement, we ensure that Iryna's name and story live on, raising awareness about violence against women and the need for justice and protection.

Remembering Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle

Another bright light taken too soon - spreading awareness about violence against women

Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle

A Life of Service and Impact

Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle, a retired Auburn University veterinary professor, was tragically murdered while walking her dog in Kiesel Park - a place she considered safe and visited regularly for her daily runs.

At just over 5-foot-2, she was described as "a force in this world, such a bright, bright light, just an all-around wonderful human being" by those who knew her. She had dedicated her life to veterinary medicine and education.

Her death has devastated the Auburn University veterinary community and raised serious questions about public safety, even in places considered secure.

Two Stories, One Movement

Both Iryna and Dr. Schnuelle represent the urgent need to address violence against women. Their stories remind us that no woman should live in fear, and every life lost demands justice and action.

Logan Federico

A Life of Dreams and Ambition

Logan Federico was just 22 years old when her life was tragically taken during a suspected home invasion in Columbia, South Carolina, on May 3, 2025. She was visiting friends at a rental property when the unthinkable happened.

A native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Logan was working hard at school while balancing two jobs, pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher. She had a special love for children of all ages and was described by her father as "a strong, fun-loving individual who did what she wanted to do and was spicy."

Logan was also a huge Taylor Swift fan, bringing joy and music into the lives of those around her. Her father called her his "hero," though he heartbreakingly shared that "that day, I could not be her hero."

- Stephen Federico, Logan's father

Justice Pursued

Alexander Dickey, 30, has been charged with murder, burglary, and weapons possession in connection with Logan's death.
